XPS M140 laptop

We purchased this laptop in May of this year.  When it arrived, I set it up and it automatically configured the internet wireless connection and the printer.  That was great, it didn't take long to do it.  Well, after three months using the printer, all of a suddent the printer doesn't conncet anymore, in fact there are no printer icons in the printer part of the control panel.  I used the browse feature and it searched for a long time and never found the printer.  I tried other things as well, but cannot get the printer up and running.  Any ideas.  Printer works fine from the desktop, there have been no changes to anything.  Printer sharing is checked on both computers.

I love this quote "there have been no changes to anything".  There must have been changes to something, otherwise the printer would still work over the network.   Does file sharing work between the two computers (both ways)?  Is your Printer shown as a shared device on the computer to which it is connected?  Are any firewalls configured to allow local network access?

restart your computer, on the DELL logo screen hit the F8 key.select safe mode with networking.hit enter on all the other options. and in the safe mode with networking try to search for the printer. if yes. restart the computer to get into the normal mode and uninstall the security centre program on your computer.
