If you use Quicktime or have an iPod, iPhone, then you would need iTunes and quicktime come together. If you do not have these, then these programs are not needed.
Unknoiw what devices you own. Quicktime is used on some cell phones for video, almost forgot about that. I have a memory card reader and just use Windows Media Player or VLC Media Player to play these formats. I do not have an iPod or iPhone so I do not need these programs.
