Error Code 0x80070017

I've been trying, without success, to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit software) using the Microsoft installation DVD I purchased from Dell. No matter what I've tried, I keep getting Error Code 0x80070017 at 65-66% of installation. What "files may be corrupt or missing" is that message referring to? I have a Dell Studio XPS 435MT that I purchased just 4 months ago. What can I do?

Do a google search for that error code - there are lots of "hits" for that.  One that I looked at suggested it was a bad install DVD.  If that is the case, and it was a full Retail upgrade version, you will have to contact Microsoft to get a replacement.
