Ethernet controller driver?
OK, so here is my problem. I am trying to install a Netgear WPN824 router on my Dimension 3000. I run the setup disc and do everything the way it tells me to so that it goes: wall> cable modem> router> computer. When I do this, the setup program tells me that the network adapter is not responding so there is no internet connection. The computer in the bedroom however IS getting internet connection through the router/ wireless adapter. I checked the network adapter in my device manager and it lists my modem as my network adapter and has a working driver. However, right below the network adapter under "other devices" it shows an ethernet controller which has NO driver. So do I need to download an ethernet controller driver? If so which one? There were none listed for a dimension 3000 but there were a few network adapter drivers. I am confused and could really use some assistance. PLEASE HELP!!

Actually, if you're looking in the right place, there is only one. The other two are a diagnostic program for the Ethernet adapter and a driver for a wireless adapter. For your convenience, the Dell site says this is the one you should try: Dimension 3000 Windows XP Pro/100 VE Network Adapter Driver.
