I cannot install RAID driver!

I have gone to Dell website, after keying in my Service Tag, and download the Matrix Storgae Manger for Floppy drive so that I can press F6 whiel isntalling with WIn XP Home CD...

But it keeps saying that the drivers on the disk (copied from Dell) is newer than the drivers on Windows.

One thing I realised on Dell page, it syas that teh RAID driver is for BIOS version AI... but my BIOS is A3. So coudl that be the issue?

Welcome to the forums Colin :emotion-21:

1.  What system do you have?

2.  Why are you wanting to copy the Intel Matrix Storage Manager to a floppy disk, because it can be downloaded/installed after the OS has been reinstalled?

3.  Similarly... why do you need RAID drivers?  If they were required for your system... they'd almost certainly be slipstreamed onto the OS disc by Dell?

It always help to provide system model and operating system.

You need the SATA driver the smaller file if there are two. You download it and then run the file to extract the files. Then you place those files on the Root Directroy(A:\) of the floppy disk.

IF you do not have a floppy driver then you will need to slipstream into the install disk as XP does not recognize usb floppy drives or sticks.

If you are using a Dell reinstall disk then you do not need to do this as the drivers are already in the disk.
