Installing an operating system
I inherited a Dell Laptop. I cannot log on because I have no idea what the password is. I would like to install a brand new windows xp operating system. I cant even do that.I have tried everything I know and it just will not boot this OS from the disc. I am stumped. Please help.

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:
If it's not recognising the OS disc, go into the BIOS, and check the boot order?
It should be set to check for a bootable CD/DVD disc, before attempting to boot from the hard drive :emotion-55:
