The problem is in the monitor and maybe even one of the setup buttons on the front is stuck on. If not, then it's most likely a hardware problem in the monitor. If it all works OK after the setup issue, I would just continue using it until the monitor fails completely then replace it. But, if the problem bothers you and you don't want the problem, replace the monitor now.
