Order Status Not Responding

I am just curious if I am the only one that cannot check the status of my order. I have purchased multiple computers from Dell and absolutely nothing shows up in the Order Status area. The laptop I just ordered does not show up, nor do any of the other computers I have obtained over the past two years. It seems that if the system was having problems that something could be posted to indicate a system problem.

The link provided in your confirmation email should work.  Mine did.  You should also be able to:

  • Call 800-999-3355 to check order status
  • Click on "Check Order Status" (something like that) at the top of the support.dell.com web-page

What did NOT work for me was:

  • The "recent orders" in myaccount is blank.
  • The delivery date (after shipment) was never updated in the detailed link at Dell.

Note:

  • The summary link (Check Order Status after entering order/cust #) and the phone number are updated faster than the more detailed link.
  • "Shipped" on the Dell links (both summary and detailed) pages really means both "ready to ship" and "actually shipped"; expect a delay when you first see (so-called) "shipped".  Mine "shipped" Thursday evening, but didn't really start to move until Tuesday/Wednesday...

I am having the same problem. I just sent feedback to the Dell website people. Hopefully they can resolve this soon. I agree with you, they could at least tell you if they are having a problem.

I placed an order for 3 items, one was a laptop. I have received 2 items and delivery of the laptop is in about 2 weeks. The odd thing is that the three items I had in my cart are still in my cart and I am getting emails saying my cart is about to expire and that information is about to be lost. . Why don't the items in my cart leave my cart once I order them?

I was able to confirm my order by phone through an automated system. The Dell system does need improvement and needs to stop sending conflicting messages.

I have to give credit where credit is due.  My "Order Status" page is now working just like it is supposed to work--including tracking a current order and being able to see past orders.  I still think that Dell could have posted some kind of announcement that they were having system issues with that feature, but obviously they were working on it and have fixed the problem.
