re-install Drivers and Utilities Program

I'm new to this.   My "help" has expired with Dell.   Here goes.  I was having trouble faxing.  I acquired my inspiron 530 from my daughter.  When I tried to fax - her telephone number and her user name came up. I thought if I uninstalled the V.9X Data/Fax software and reinstall it that it would work and I would be able to change the information at that time.  Well, when I put the CD in the drive it began like it was going to run; however, within a few seconds it stopped and did nothing.   I can't play a CD in the drive at all.   I guess I have really messed up!!  I guess - no faxes and no CD's for this old lady.

Hi jcandrews, What i would do is, reboot the system, when you see the dell splash screen press F8 and do an factory restore. That way you will get the computer to the way you want it. Ps Its F8 for vista, if your system has XP, then its Ctrl + F11.

Kinda drastic response for a one program not working.

Perhaps your autorun feature is not enable.

try rightclicking on the my computer icon and select explore. Click on the drive letter for the Cd drive. look for a file called setup.exe and double click on that or as an alternative you can go HERE and download the file save it to your desktop. then double click on it to have it install the driver.

THIS FILE is if you are running Vista
