read disk error occurred
I have a XPS M1730 laptop and have got this error message. I have run a diagnostic test and it came up with
0146
2000-0146
Unit 0:DST log cantains previous error
Can any one help me, please?

If you are able to boot up your system, you need to back up your important data immediately!!
This is a very generic error. What you need to do is perform the READ test on the hard drive. When you boot to the diagnostics, you should see an option to run a CUSTOM test. That will allow you to select just one component to test. Try that and tell me what you find.
