Restore computer HELP
I have a dell 4600, I need to completely restore it. and I completely forgot how to do this.
My questions are:
1. Do i have to install windows XP or will it do it automatically
2. Could someone tell me the procedure and steps on doing this task, I dont want to pay Dell support to do this.
I have done this before, and i can understand the person that was helping me. So was a total lost of my money.
I can do it if someone would just tell me the steps.
ie: what discs I need etc.

1. You will need your Dell CDs, one of them says its the OS CD Windows XP, might be green??!
2. Go to this site and print it out and follow. You will be good to go. http://www.theeldergeek.com/xp_home_install_-_graphic.htm

That one Rick has linked to covers both eventualities (restore/reinstall), but... assuming the recovery parition is intact... you can use this 'Restoring your [Dell] computer to the factory settings' specifically :emotion-5:
