Studio 15

I just opened the box on a studio 1537 laptop and was wondering if there is something I am doing wrong in regards to the keyboard backlight? I am pressing the fn key and the right arrow key as directed,no light comes on.The screen shows the 3 settings as I am pressing the button. Just trying all the toys to see if it everything works!!

I know that my son purchased a keyboard that lights up.  And when I first hooked it up I htough it was broken as I couldn't tell it was lit up.  But I turned down the lights in the room and then noticed it was working.  I know this is a dumb question, but did you try it in a dark room?

You are pressing the right keys and the 3 settings are there...I think it's full light, half light and no light or something.  But if you try it and nothing works, contact Dell as you could have a faulty keyboard and it should be replaced under warranty.

Stewart14,

eskymi is correct. The three settings are Full brightness, half brightness and off. You have to press the blue Fn and right arrow.

Try going to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number(do NOT pst it in the forums as it contains personal information and your post will get deleted) under applications, download and install Quickset. Is this was removed or became corrupt, then this could be why it's not functioning. If it doesn't work after you install Quickset, then you need to contact the place of purchase.

Stewart14,

Keep us informed as to what happens. You need to only reply once, as we all can read the same post.
