STUDIO XPS 1645 i7 ORDER STATUS THREAD !

THIS IS THE THREAD FOR US TO POST OUR ORDER STATUS OF STUDIO XPS 1645 CORE i7

I have browsed the forum and found this as a BIG issue about the Studio XPS 1645 i7 Delivery. Some are saying that Dell IS NOT SHIPPING it and some say opposite.

Now we have this thread for each of us to post exactly what is going on with our order status so that we all know the truth.

Who has ordered really long time ago - Who has canceled - Who is still waiting - Who has talked with Dell Reps or Manager - Who has been given reasons for Cancellations or Delays - Who has experience something else related to the problem ..

WE WILL GATHER INFORMATION HERE !

They just updated my order status from 4/7/10 to 3/9/10.   Looks like they have cleared up the mess that they were dealing with.

- Ordered: 14 Feb 2010

- Money debited from my account: 15 Feb 2010 

- Sent a couple of email messages through their web page.  Apart from auto-generated acknowledgement, no reply.

- Called the Service Desk on 2 March.  30 minutes wait.  They gave me an Order No. and Customer Code. (Previously only Internet Reference No. was received).  Was told that my computer will be arriving on 4 March.  Even when I said I had not received the order confirmation and my delivery status had not changed, she assured me that it will arrive on 4 March.

- Nothing happened on 4 March.  

- My husband called the Service Desk for me.  30 minutes wait.  He gave an Order No.  They put him on hold for another 10 minutes and for the meantime our phone battery went.  

- My Delivery Status as of 5 March: No progress (i.e. Still 'Order received')

This is the first time I have bought a computer through Internet and I don't think I will do it again.  I don't know what to do now.  I wish they have explained to me why there is a delay at least.

I am having the same problems. I ordered my xps 1645 i7 on Feb 14, with a delivery date of March 4. Well I stayed home March 4th and nothing. I then called Dell as to my order and was told that it was shipped and I should receive it on March 4th. So I waited some more and nothing. I then called Fedex with the tracking number, they told me that they do not have the laptop in there possession. They also said that Dell has a trailer parked at it's facility and that the trailer is not picked up till it is full. So it can sit there for up to 3 days, so once again I called Dell about my laptop and told them what Fedex had said. There only response to this was that my laptop has a delivery date of March 4th, +/- 7 days....Sorry to say but I think I will never purchase from Dell again....and I hope it has the 130 watt power supply, if not that means I will have to contact them to have one shipped and god knows how long that is going to take....

The same thing happened to me. They changed the delivery date to March 3rd. However so far I have not received the computer. Fedex just had delivery information (they got it on Feb 28th) and I have a shipping method of 2 business days. What's going on?

In order to meet a 2nd business day delivery commitment it helps FedEx when there is a weekend between each one of those business days:

Well nothing on Fedex website yet...I am going to give it till Wed. March 10th. If nothing by then I am going to cancel my order. I should have just gone over to Bestbuy and purchased a Mac Pro notebook............

I got a number that is a detailed order status.  Its right to it, no long press 2 stuff.  My online status says "In Production" and order will arrive 3/9.  When I called this number it said that my computer was shipped today and will still arrive on the 9th.  So check it out, might help out since seems like the online status check is delayed.

I have called this number in the past it tells me the same thing that they have told me...That it was shipped on March 3, and that I will receive it on March 4...(NOT)...I called them and they said that it can be +/- 7 days from the day that they estimate. I have contacted Fedex and they do not have any information as to the tracking number that was given to me. I was also told by Fedex that they have trailers that must be filled before they are moved out for actual shipping. What they do is scan you order into the fedex system, it give the information to fedex as to a tracking number and that's it. Till Fedex or UPS move there trailers out of the shipping bays at the Dell warehouse it is just sitting and not in motion. I work for a very large company and we also ship out products in this manner. The only thing is that we have UPS take there trailers at the end of the day, so that the orders do not just sit but are actually in motion to there destinations....

I finally had a "shipped" notice on my account page.  I followed the Fed Ex tracking number and found that it was on the truck for delivery.  I stayed home all day, even called fed ex and made sure it would be delivered and they said YES.  I then saw on the tracking at 4:30 pm that it was "back at Fed Ex facility". And what does the delivery status page on the Dell site say? "Unsuccessful Delivery Attempt" NO..there was NO DELIVERY attempt. Since this all happened on a Friday, I now have to wait another 2 days.  Very frustrating.

Well checked out my tracking, and out of the blue it showed up. Got it delivered today. It came with the 90 watt power supply so I contacted Dell, and they are shipping out the 130 watt power supply A.S.A.P...I will also upon receiving the 130 supply have to update my bios...So far lets see how it goes...

Got the new 130 watt power supply.They shipped it next day fedex...wow...Installed the AO7 bios and I am up and running...The xps1645 is great so far. I am going to put it through a few test and it should be good to go....Good luck to all of you guys the are waiting for your xps1645...

The same thing happened to me. I got it on Monday. The Fedex page got a full update on Monday.

Got it yesterday! Just over a month after I ordered it. Looks great and I've had some envying looks at work:emotion-2:
