7010 SFF case swap

Question

I’m looking to swap the case from the traditional optiplex 7010 SFF case to a mid tower.

i need to know if it’s ATX ITX or has it’s own layout.

I’m trying to fit a gpu but the case and psu is restricting it

and is it even worth doing a case swap or buying a MT model of an optiplex

It won't be an easy move since the SFF has some proprietary connectors. The page here has more information as does this page. Having said this a user has a video here that shows how he did it, but I am not sure it was a 7010 SFF MB.

but would make a good youtube video doing that and failing,

make money doing wrong things on the tube like most do there.

why not make PC from DIY , by Asus, z270prime or better, (wow even real documents with it and QVL) wow!

buy a 10000x better case, endless sold now, some are SUPER Great and run 10x cooler than most PC made.

then pick up GTX1650 GPU.

TX550m up PSU from Corsair, semi modular.

Get a real full sized desktop so you can upgrade easy, and never buy any DELL with BTX mobo inside, ever.

You can do it but it will require to cut of the stock cooler connector to use it for your other cooler as well with the rear fan. You will need a small standoff for the big screw on the motherboard. Also when placing the gpu the shield can break of a resistor or a capacitor, i removed it. And also the i/o shield you will need to get one or cut the one off. But before any of this make sure the case screws fit. You will also need to bring your front panel and power cable.

Before:

Readeon HD 6450, i7-3770, 16GB RAM, 1 HDD, 1 DVD Drive, stock power supply.

After:

GTX 750 ti, i7- 3770, 16Gb RAM, 2 HDD, 550w power supply.

im trying to do the same with a 7060 sff that i got for cheap(250$) i have a 7010 mt i7 3770 1tb evo 500wpsu 22gb ddr3 1600 and a 1660s that works great but..... i like tinkering around with these optiflexs ... so the upgrade would be fun.. if i could get it in a better case. anyway , i dont think these guys are being OPTImistic enough. with a dremmel, quit 120m fans, and some cheap wires of amazon. im pretty sure i could make her function and look pretty sharp cheers! Z

Ok, well My Optiplex780 Tower died. The PSU is the cause. but at the time I was taking a Computer IT course online. So I got on Amazon and found a Refurb Optiplex 790 picture was of a Tower Case. When I finally got it, it was a SSF Case. It's faster than the 780 as its a i5 Intel Processor. Nothing wrong withe 780 other than needing a Power Supply. But the 790 SSF case is Junk. When I boot it, it has a HHD Fan issue. SO I'm going to Strip the SSF Case and put it all in a Dell Tower and I have 3 of them. I use my Computers for Broadcasting Music. So I don't need more room for a GPU that cost as much as New Computer. That's crazy, plus I blame all those that bought GPU's to BC. Thank you for causing the shortage of GPU's and driving the cost up to stupid prices. Going to laugh when they outlaw BC all together. As it is fake, and not backed by anything, power goes out, your broke.
