Optiplex XE4, restore the Dell BIOS splash screen
I wanted to restore the original Dell logo. But no matter how I try, it won't restore. I used the restoration instructions provided by Dell. Perhaps someone has an idea. It's an Optiplex XE4 series device.

Is bios already latest version? If not try flash to latest Dell bios.

Yes, I used the latest BIOS from the Dell website. The update was successful. However, the original Dell logo still couldn't be restored.

Is the logo just not showing up or replaced by a different logo?
If it does not show at all you can replace CMOs battery w a new one then clear CMOs settings (RTC reset).

It always stays on the old BIOS/splash screen. I can't reset it to the original Dell BIOS/splash screen. I removed the BIOS battery and reset the BIOS to default settings, but that didn't change anything. Even reflashing the BIOS according to Dell's instructions didn't help after the Bios reset.

What is “old” and what is “original”? to some these are basically synonymous.
Dell logo splash screen is a bmp file embedded in bios rom file. When bios is flashed the image is updated to that in new rom. It is not a CMOs setting or bios setting that can be changed by user. It is possible to use a programmer’s tool to hack the rom and replace default bmp w a custom one.
OP issue is not clear. It seems the current bios rom has a logo file but it is not what OP desired as the “original” one. What is the “original” logo any way? It may be in the 1st version of XE4 bios, if that version had a different logo. to extract a possible original logo from old bios and replace that in the update bios version is not trivial task

Restoring the original Dell BIOS splash screen on an Optiplex XE4 can be tricky because Dell’s newer BIOS versions lock or customize the splash image differently from older systems. Here’s the proper approach:
Verify BIOS version – Make sure your XE4 is running the correct BIOS version that supports logo restoration. Some newer updates may override custom images and prevent reversion.
Use the official Dell method – Dell provides a “BIOS Logo Utility” for certain systems, but it’s only supported on versions where the splash screen can be customized. Double-check that your instructions match the exact utility version for XE4.
Flash BIOS with original Dell package – If the logo won’t restore using the utility, sometimes the only way is to reflash the full official BIOS image from Dell for your model. This will revert all BIOS settings to defaults, including the splash screen. Make sure to back up your current BIOS settings first.
Clear CMOS – After reflashing, perform a CMOS reset (remove the battery for a few minutes or use the jumper) to ensure any cached custom logo is cleared.
Check for hidden options – Some Dell BIOS versions require enabling “Enable Full Logo” or “OEM Logo” in Advanced BIOS settings before the splash screen will display.
⚠️ Warning: Flashing BIOS carries a small risk; ensure your PC is on stable power during the process.
Following these steps should restore the original Dell logo on the XE4.
