Budget gpu for a 790mt

The GT 1030 GDDR5 comes regularly recommended by one of our Rockstars for Optiplex's.   You can run it without having to upgrade the PSU.  It's not said what your budget is, but if it's tight, there you go.

As for the 1050, the PSU wouldn't likely be enough.  It takes a 305w PSU to run a 75w GPU.  I don't know that the 1050 can take external power.

Me, personally I have 790 and tested over 40 cards in this PC, with 750watt PCU added.

all ran but one (a dual core, GPU card GTX295 but the single GPU processor version runs.

as does even the GTX1650 Zotac.  note the 3 PORT types! all 3 there. of  4, no VGA,  nice card and fast.

and all these.

the benchmarks home page shows 12000s of folks running cards on 790 why not look there,>?first.

see REAL peoples results, not rumor.

You MT can do cards up to 10.5? long I think (use a ruler is day 1 first step) Length of X16 slot space.

now the real facts.

nobody knows what you need for a card, (besides cheap)

GPU cards are complex, more than any other upgrade you can name,.  very complex.

fits, and power needs.?

what ports do you need of the 4 types.

what SPEED, FPS need in games are you gaming, well name one.

do you need more Vram. on the card ,

not posting a link a card, means we can not read the manual to you on length nor power needs.

some 1050s need more power, some are 75watt in the slot, show links to URL of  your dreamed card, I can not guess 12 makers of card nor the 10 variants each.

if you want to learn the complexity of GPU easy, (Choices) look on Newegg.com

see that left side of GPU page there, sell all those FILTERS there, look and learn what YOU need, we can not guess what you need now or 1 year from now.

Id go  GTX1650 ,  Zotacand have. and tested it in all DELLS here too.

If you want to use any card other than GT1030 in the MT you must UPGRADE the power supply.
