Can't upgrade ram for 7010 micro plus
OptiPlex Micro Plus 7010
Hello,
I bought two kits ram 64Gb to upgrade the Optiplex machine. However, both of them didn't work. Can anyone know the reason why?
First kit: GSKILL F5-4800S3838A32GX2-RS - https://www.gskill.com/product/2/384/1651806724/F5-4800S3838A32GX2-RS-F5-4800S3838A32GA2-RS
Second kit: Kingston: KF548S38IBK2-64- https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KF548S38IBK2-32.pdf
As I checked, the bus and the type of ram are same as the one that is included in the machine (SK Hynix)
Thank you a lot!

I noticed that both of your kits are with XMP profiles. Normal timings would have better chance with compatibility. Dell's RAM is guarantee to work, it also comes with warranty and support, although the pricings is considerably overpriced.
Alternatively, some users (not all) have successfully upgraded with Crucial 's RAM, or ATech, just make sure that sellers offer free support and accepting return.
While awaiting for information from Dell, if you prefer matching OEM ram, you may try SK Hynix HMCG78MEBSA092N, or HMCG78MEBSA095N.

Similar to SFF 7010 plus issues. Try Dell oem ram from third party.

@redxps630 thanks for your response. I just read it and still don't know which ram I should buy. Do you know where I can find the information for my PC? This machine is very good I think so I don't want to change to another brand.

Thank you @Chino de Oro @JOcean
I have ordered the new kit ram from Crucial and will test it this Saturday when it's arrived.
I will update here for more information so it can also be helpful for someone else.

I agree that the RAM you purchased are performance RAM and that may be the source of the problem. Try the Crucial RAM that was linked and if they do not work Crucial will take them back with a full refund.

I sent Chris M a pm. I will let you know if he responds.
sofar 3 users validated these ram for Micro plus 7010, which was already mentioned by Chino.
If you look at the 1st Hynix spec it is Hynix 16GB DDR5-4800MHz PC5-38400 Non-ECC Unbuffered CL40 262-Pin SODIMM 1.1V Single Rank Memory Module.
if you extrapolate that spec to 32GB, you get this ram: HMCG88MEBSA092N - Hynix 32GB DDR5-4800MHz PC5-38400 Non-ECC Unbuffered CL40 262-Pin SODIMM 1.1V Dual Rank Memory Module
so if I have to guess I will bet on HMCG88MEBSA092N as the Dell oem 32GB.
It is available on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/325683135258?

Thank you for the support, everyone.
I tried this kit ram from Crucial CT2K32G48C40S5. It worked on my computer. I tested with memtest and the result is ok.

FYI, I used the least expensive 32GB DDR5-4800 kit available on the egg in my 7010 SFF Plus, and it works just fine (modules from TEAMGROUP, chips from SK Hynix):

Also, the memory is capped at 4400 in this motherboard configuration. This link explains why:
