CPU socket type on 7010 0WR&PY version A01 mother board
I have an i7-4790 /SR1QF 3.86GHz cpu I would like to use if possible.
Will the socket type on my 0WR&PY version A01 mother board accept an i7-4790?
Do I need to do some thing with my BIOS, power supply etc etc.

you have 7010 SFF motherboard, the socket is lga1155 which is incompatible with intel 4th gen cpu. i7-4790 is only compatible with socket lga1150.
Optiplex 7020/9020/3020 or XE2 have socket lga1150.

correct to both.
i3, i5, i7 -2xxx are also c/w optiplex 7010 because the socket lga1155 is for both intel 3rd and 2nd gen cpu.
user validated popular cpu for 7010

So any i3-4xxx, i5-4xxx, i7-4xxx is 4th generation and won't work? But any i3, i5, i7 with a 3 after the dash will?
