Custom Optiplex 9020 PSU
I’ve been researching to build a custom optiplex 9020 and I am interested in using this power supply. Can I use one of the 4 + 4 cpu power pins to power the motherboard, and the other 4 + 4 pin to power the cpu?

the Dell T1700, 3020 7020 9020 power supply is 8 pins instead of the 24 pin. HOWEVER the number of pins is NOT an indication of where it goes. Dells power configuration is proprietary not standard.
EVGA 700BR used along with Moddiy CAB 359 adapter works fine. GPU and CPU connectors are 6+2 8 pin for video and 4 + 4 pin for cpu. Neither of those are correct for the 8 pin on a 9020 motherboard.

We might have to wait and see what some others have to say, but it might be a better bet to get an EVGA BR or B1 PSU and use a 24-pin to 8-pin adapter.
Some adapters on Amazon
Speedstep likes the Moddiy (brand name) adapter, but I couldn't find that one at Amazon.
