Dell 790 Series Stuck on Loading Screen
My computer crashed last night due to unknown cause. I had been doing lots of downloads and running virus scans for safety. All scans came up clean, and and hour later while gaming it shut down with the blue error screen.
Now today I've been attempting to solve this, but to no avail. It has gone through the auto repair process and now it is stuck like this. The loading bar is full, but nothing happens. I've shut it off and back on which brings me right back to here. It isn't burned into the screen though, so that's nice.
I'm not intensively computer smart, so I'll mention that my PC is technically a custom built. It isn't anything super powerful. Sort of a bunch of functioning left over pieces from a computer nut friend.
If it is unfixable, I am willing to get a new PC. However, i dont know how Id keep all my files and such. So that's also a concern

first thing to do is to replace cmos battery w a brand new CR2032 and clear cmos settings by reset jumper on motherboard.

Now you have a different issue. Previous recommendation is for a stalled POST. It sounds like now your pc can finish the Dell logo screen which means it passes POST. immediately after POST is complete, PC looks for bootable sector on hdd and tries to boot Windows OS.
now your issue is windows cannot boot due to system file corruption. in this case the easiest solution is to do a fresh clean install of Windows.

It is now giving me this info
Recovery
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired
The operating system couldn't be loaded because a critical system driver is missing or corrupted.
File: windows\System32\driversel2300i.sys
Error code: 0xc0000098
When I press F8 or Enter to do something, the screen flashes but makes no progress. Would you still recommend the previous reply?

Apolgies, im not super intuitive with computers. How would I go about doing that? I am unable to get to my desktop main screen. As soon as I turn the device on there are a few different screens that pop up. The ones previously mentioned. Sometimes a black screen with a blinking bar in the top left, sometimes nothing, other times it'll begin auto repair then die again...
It doesn't seem to havr a pattern or consistent. However I can get to any of the previously mentioned screens if required

Easiest bet for reloading is use Win10 DVD from newegg. You can go the above route, but it has to be on a working PC.
First, change the size 2032 CMOS battery. This could be why your error codes keep changing. A bad battery will throw bad error codes.
If you're still getting BSOD's, notably the last one you screengrabbed, reloading is likely the only option. Important files and data should always be backed up outside of PC.
One option - As long as error codes keep changing, you can always Google them. https://www.google.com/search?q=0xc0000001&oq=0xc0000001&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i333l2.10431j1j4&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#ip=1

So I don't have a working PC to do the download, however I have chromebooks. Also have friends PC, and worst comes to worst, public PCs to use for the clean windows 10 download. Would doing this fix all current issues or would I still have to get the 2032 CMOS battery? (I'm currently getting a USB to try the aforementioned method)
I've had so many different errors codes, loading screens, blank screens, etc. So it is hard for me to know what is exactly going or went wrong. I'm still lost as to what caused these issues. Before my computer crashed I was downloading mods for a game and having no issues. Being sure to use popular websites and staying away from suspicious stuff, but I still did various virus scans. All 3 different scan types coming up clean each time. Started up the mods and my game was running fine with a consistent fps. Then an hour in, it blue error screened with that "something went wrong, restarting device" screen. Hasn't worked since. My friends think I over loaded my PC, but I had played games more intensive before in comparison to the one during the crash.
I am uncertain when my last windows update was downloaded, and it may have very well been that day. Also didn't windows 11 just come out recently ish?

First, change the size 2032 CMOS battery.
This doesn't necessarily mean all issues would be fixed; but would be kind of stupid too miss it especially if it's 5+ years old.
Win11 requires at least an 8th gen CPU. 2nd gen that's in the 790 wouldn't be able to run it. I won't say that this is in concrete. One user loaded Win11 in a VM and installed on an older Dell with screengrabs to prove it.
I'm not sure what your friends mean by "overloaded...PC." Not enough HDD/SSD space? Did any downloads give a yellow warning pop-up in Windows?
I think at this point not worry about the error codes seen as they varied; just move forward with it. I don't think you'll have too much trouble getting it working again.

Lets say the PC is working, and a Win10 DVD is popped in. It gives the option to save files before reloading. I don't know that the option will come up when you reload and OS isn't working.
If an install is clean and totally fresh, then all files and data are lost.
One idea is to use new HDD/SSD, then see if you can still files off of the old drive. No guarantees though.

I didn't get any yellow warnings, no.
I have almost everything ready to attempt to fix my PC... However since Im going the windows 10 clean install via usb, it'll wipe all my files. Is there a way to create a backup to save all my files while my PC is in this "vegetative state". I'm currently trying to find an answer, but I'm just getting results to backing up a working computer.

@Nite746 The one and last solution for your problem is install a new fresh window.
