DELL 960 - CPU Upgrade
Greetings!
I have a DELL 960 Service Tag: Express Service Code: and I am looking to upgrade the CPU - IF POSSIBLE.
I see that the current CPU is Core 2 Duo E8600 with VT/3.33GHz,6M,1333FSB

ps: this thing is a workhorse! It probably will never die ... kudos to DELL for the good product.

Optiplex? The private info with the tag and code has been removed since those are not allowed in the forum. Generally speaking, it is not practical to upgrade old computers' cpu. If it works as well you say, use it as is until you can replace the computer.

Q9650 is supported. Recommended to update bios BEFORE changing CPU.
