well learn how to find noise,  this is not hard at all. (simple ISOLATION tests and proofs)

if you disconnect the HDD and it goes silent, the hDD is bad, (all purrrrrr and tiny weak clicks OK, all do)

but loud endless clicks from any HDD is a bad drive, (you do know that they the can fail , run smart tests on it?

run F12, ePSA diagnostic tests on it yet, ?

Noise, sources all, ( use kitchen towel empty tube to ear, lid off case find noise..  all can be unplugged to  prove it is GUILTY. (PSU bench tested easy ask (paper clip test)

  • the  HDD bad..
  • fans bad
  • fans packed in lint, or HS packed and the junk there hitting blades
  • PSU harnesses touching fans, tie them back..
  • PSU fan noise,
  • GPU fan noise or lint,  if in fact PC has GPU  card, mine 3020MT does, and very fast card..
  • The PC has beeper and cam make odd sounds, super easy to hear that and know it is IT.

even the CPU fan unplugs, for 1 min safe test.

do not hot swap.(plug) any thing inside the PC.

IF any HDD fails and then goes in to endless recalilbration, it will click, and fail that calibration and repeat forever.

run the smart tests on the HDD, see hours on driver, see if parameter C6 is wrong.

see this.? yellow or red warning means BAD HDD !!!!!!!

smart-failed

when you said front panel I guess you mean case sides left is not removed, and not listening at the side,? lid off.??????

why is your HDD vibrating.????????????????????????

is your HDD in the blue shock mounted dell holder in the Dell HDD BAY???????????

I have 3 HDD in my PC and 3  SSD M.2 non click, non fail. but if  they did click id be on that like a tick on hound dogs,  tail.

if you put that big HDD in PC#2 does it click there too?

if you put that HDD in USB dock, does it click there too>?

lots of tests, but is only like 5 minutes work using EAR tube.... cardboard, is non elect conducting, or PVC pipe.

Unless your system is running normally, HDD clicks can be a sign of malware.

Just so you know, your recording won't play without downloading it.  I've ran into this before with Google Drive.  May be take a video and upload it to YouTube instead.

that sound file shows gross noise, not normal head servo!,  weak tiny clicks  is normal not yours

that is the drive trying to autocalibrate or self repair or is  death throws,  , really all 3 are

learn to listen to normal disks first then bad  , learn it as a skill.

then test the HDD these way)

  • find offending drive, if more than one , one is bad, is it making hug noise , gee it vibrates, omg bad.
  • makes noise booted to F2 BIOS screen is a bad drive,  end story 1 test in 15seconds work, why skip this?
  • makes noise booted to linux demo media, or FreeDOS / is bad HDD
  • makes noses only in windows ,not above, that is bad apps. but your noise I hear now is horrid
  • use stethoscope to hear hdd, or screw driver to ear or suction type microphone, or other simple ways ask.
  • does F12 HDD diagnostic fail
  • does crystaldiskinfo fail. (or any smart test app on earth fail) all will if is failed

the HDD has  a label

and this sticker is marked DOM , = date of manufacture, read that, big clue

ST31000340NS

DOM

09392 corresponds to 2009-03-25

wow it ran 11 years,  ,  a kind world record that,  Id be smitten,

why in the world not post the SMART screen data as is shown. by me.

i bet it fails bad  but if it clicks in DOS or linux or even jusT f2 bios screens, it is TOAST..

if it is clicking it will get far worse faster,  any data there, will be gone SOON, if not NOW...

hdd do fail (and surly any one can find the source,( and the BIOS f2 , TURN OFF CASE INTRUSION , GEE)

5 years old easy used a lot

boot the PC to linux demo STICK OR dvd, P;ICK TRY ME,  DOES hdd click now ?(no then that sure is not windows infected...

does it click in F2 BIOS only ?  if yes  that sure is not a virus

yes there are lame apps, THE Nasty WISE  https://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-system-monitor.html

does that and never ends until removed from windows.  pure junk this is

DOES drive fail in 2nd PC.

does drive fail in USB HDD dock,

does drive click booted to freeDOS, (use rufus to test that)

I offered vast tests here, why not do the tests, and for sure find what OBJECT Actually clicks.

why skip running the built in, F12, ePSA diagnostic on the HDD? why do you skip test 1..???

make sure to test the drive that clicks not sure me how many you have I have 4 in mine...only 2 can click.
