Dell optiplex 7010 sff PSU problem

My 7010 sff PSU went out and I bought a used one from ebay. when I put the one back in, the machine still cannot be turned on. when I press the test button on the psu, the green light on and the system_fan is on.

I am not sure if the newly bought psu has problem or there is other problem inside the machine.

BTW, when I plug in the power cord into the PSU bought on ebay without attaching anything. The light is off all the time, but if I press test button, the light is on on the PSU fan is on. Is that normal? I saw a youtube video said that the light should be on for a few second and then off after the power cord plugged in for optiplex PSU, is that true?

For a few seconds after plugging in, Dell PC's normally do a self test.  As the fans power up, I believe the green light should definitely come on.

Pushing the self test button and only having a green light during is no guarantee the PSU is good.  Though that doesn't quite make sense, that's knowledge from one of our top Rockstars.

Did the PSU come with anything for a return policy?  Also, you might want to look into refurb instead of used.  Refurbs are more likely tested to work.  I don't know if "tested to work" was in the description for the one you bought.

Do you know for sure it was the PSU and not the MB?
