It's a bit of work but it can be done. This YouTube video has more information (though not from the 790 but the procedure is the same) and you will need the adapters from Harbin Repairs here to convert the proprietary I/O motherboard headers to standard I/O headers.
EDIT:
I forgot to add. You can do it if you have a mini tower but not the SFF, as it is an almost impossible job.
