I don't know that Win98 can update drivers from the internet I'm sure you know just going on the internet with it could be very risky.
On a PC with Win10 and security up to date, Google and download the needed drivers to a flash drive. Then, when you plug in the flash drive into the Win98 PC, click on the drivers to update. I say "security up to date" in case of any shady sites.
I used to have to do that before I had the internet at home. Download things like SP1 & 2 for XP, and drivers at the library.
You might have to include your PC in your Google search. Something like "Optiplex GX620 windows 98 pci universal serial bus driver download."
There's always some or a few download sites that can look legit, but are not. So, if you download the drivers needed on a Win10 PC, if a yellow caution comes up, be careful unless you know for sure it's legit. Like if you used it before, recommended by Dell, etc. I can be a wise judgement call if you back out or not. If you get a red warning when trying to download a driver, back out and cancel.
Also, if you use a Win10 PC to download drivers, make sure they go to your flash drive and not the PC, especially if you do it at a library.
You said in your other long thread you're running XP. Are you just testing knowledge?
