Dual Montiors - 2 computers- SFF/MFF
If possible Id like to run dual monitors with running 2 computers, 1 keyboard, 1 mouse.
Having never used dual monitors im unsure what i need to make this happen.
The Specs/Ports on computer(s) & the Specs/Ports on monitors needed to make this work.
Other hardware.
Cables Needed.
The following is what id like to do, if it all possible.
2 computers - (CompA) = win10 (opti7070 SFF) - (CompB)= win11(opti7010 MFF)
1 Keyboard / 1 Mouse total (shared between the two computers)
Dual Monitors
Monitors would function as such if possible.
Using (CompA) both screens user would be able to view if needed/wanted to.
If (CompB) is 'On' then one screen (CompA) one screen (CompB). Ability to use CompA or CompB
(would the keyboard/mouse then switch back and forth between computers when the mouse is moved from one
screen to the other to use either CompA or CompB?)
An easy way to make it work so to speak without crawling around swamping cables
back and forth or trying to find a button to press under a desk or under paperwork.
As far as a printer goes im either going to have to share a printer between the two, or (CompB) will
have its own printer. (id rather not do wireless if possible)
To further complicate the matter, and looking ahead, maybe a way to easily plug in a laptop down
road to use with one of the monitors when connected, then using the desktops keyboard and mouse
instead of the laptop keyboard/mouse.
Hope this all makes sense and is possible.
Thanks for the Help.

You need a KVM switch and the cables that whatever monitors you have (or buy) require for video, plus the (probably USB) cables the systems require. Only you know the specifics of the hardware.
Two monitor-two system KVM switches are relatively inexpensive to start (around $100) but add a third system option and the price starts increasing. The prices will also increase depending on the video resolution you're looking for.

thanks..
Ive currently got one (1) Dell P2319H monitor now.
Looking thru dell website there's a "Dell Display Manager 2.3.1" program that could be used?
instead of KVM switch?
Looking thru my monitors software settings ive got the option of "DDC/CI" turned on already, but nothing along the line of a KVM option like the dell setup directions say. Apparently I can download the software and use that instead of a external kvm switch?
They show in one example of one monitor showing 2 different computers.
Im lost...whats the advantage of 2 displays vs 1 display split? Do I need 2 monitors or go 1 larger one split?
uggh :)
