Graphics card not seen in bios?

Question

Hi,

I have just purchased a Optiplex 3040 small form factor for my step son who is 8 and iv add 16gb of ram and a new ssd. but the AMD W4300 will not be seen in the bios? Do these unit require a special action before it works ?

you may want to replace the cmos battery w a new one then clear cmos setting via motherboard jumper based on the age of this model.

AMD W4300 is a 50w card. the 3040 sff psu is sufficient for it.

you can also try set secure boot on or off in bios and save changes to see if the card can be detected

if possible test the firepro card in another pc to verify it works.

try connect video cable to integrated video port of 3040 and boot into Windows.  In Windows go inside dev manager and look under display adapter.  how many adapters are listed?  if there is only Intel graphics listed then indeed the firepro card is not detected.  if a second adapter is listed try download and install AMD driver for it
