Make sure all important files are backed up outside of PC.

May need to reload whichever OS your on, Win10 or 11?

Download Windows 10 to an 8GB (or more) flashdrive formatted to FAT32.  If you have Win11, Download Windows 11.

When reloading, a window ask, Which partition?  Delete all previous partitions.  When you click on install all, it will automatically create the appropriate partitions.

Another window will eventually ask for product key.  Click on "I do not have a product key."  Win10 will then get the product key imbedded in BIOS and finish install.  Will need to reactivate online.

There is also:  Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File)  When downloading, it should automatically make the flash drive bootable.

Something I'd definitely check:

Right click speaker icon in taskbar > Recording tab > double-click on device > Listen tab > check Listen to this device.

Shoot.  Was this with your device connected?

Though no feedback yet, meanwhile, I had more ideas.  Please see this thread.

Also, if we're to double-click on the microphone (for example only), another window should open and the Listen tab shows.

Yes my device was connected. My device is a JBL Quantum 200 if that helps. Just in case I'm uploading another screenshot with the time.

Thanks for the screengrabs.  By any chance did you try any of the ideas in the thread I linked?

Plug in the headset to the front input jack while the PC is running, you should get a pop up screen (Wave Maxx) asking to confirm what type of device just plug in, select headset.

If you did not get any pop up, uninstall and reinstall audio driver (Realtek), it should get Wave Maxx Audio to reinstall automatically.  Reboot the machine so it can work properly.

@BlazeRayz

I've seen post whereas the pop-up doesn't show headset when device is plugged in.  If you have Waves MaxxAudio Pro, is the mic turned on in the Waves control panel?

Well this brings me to another problem, for the past few months my pc hasn't been able to open most Microsoft apps (including Microsoft store). My theory as to why this is happening is because my pc isn't up to date but that's because my pc hasn't been able to update at all. Whenever I try updating it always says something among the lines of "Something went wrong updating. Don't worry though we're reverting back...." and it goes on. I'm not sure why my pc is facing all of these problems so please help.

It's what I would do.  As for headset, please definitely let us know if mic working is still a challenge and/or if you're having any other problems.

yes my microphone works, I'm able to update and my microsoft apps open. Although I didn't really get much help thanks for effort! I'm guessing the reason I had all those issues is maybe because I downloaded something that messed up my pc or because I've edited my registry editor before. So I'd definitely recommend avoiding this.
