Improper Information for Dell TPM 2.0 Firmware Update Utility
OptiPlex 7050
On the Dell website for the TPM update utility:
it indicates: 'This file format consists of a BIOS executable file. The Universal (Windows/MS DOS) format can be used to install from any Windows or MS DOS environment.'
When I tried to install from a DOS environment it indicated 'This program cannot be run in DOS mode'. Upon closer inspection of the EXE file, the file specifically states it cannot run in DOS:
Obviously the website provides incorrect information or the EXE file was written to allow update from a DOS environment.
Since I have multiple desktops which require the TPM 2.0 update, some without operating systems installed currently, I would like to update from a DOS environment. I was able to update another system from within a Windows environment but it was excruciating and extremely time consuming. Is Dell aware that this utility cannot be run in DOS even though they say it can?
-Thanks-

I found an older version (V1) for the TPM update utility on the Dell website that does not not prevent DOS mode. Since V3 is considered 'Critical' I don't want to simply install if there are other issues that were patched in V3.
