Hi Rom1946,

I think one of the SATA ports were designed for a CD drive. That SATA power cable has a tiny little power SATA plug included specifically for these CD drives.

You can buy a SATA power splitter to add a second hard drive, I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue, since a CD/DVD drive consumes a lot more power than an SSD/HDD.

A quick search on Amazon, about $8 and 2 days waiting for Prime will fix this issue.

@redxps630 HG2F3 is 6-pin, 7G26H is 8-pin. Using cable 7G26H is not going to work.

you are correct.  I realize the Dell tricky connector after the old discussion.  learning from this forum.  it is not accepted solution now but OP or someone with similar issue can use a Dell sata splitter for more HD power needs.

ASSY,CBL,SATA,PSS,OPTI,960.

use a sata power splitter so that you are using the current genuine sata ports on motherboard side and have more than 2 sata connectors on the device side.  chino had helped provide a link to such Dell sata power splitter.  example N701D

Hi @Rom1946, did you ever find an appropriate solution to your problem? I have the same issue but with the Optiplex 7040 SFF.  It has 4 sata connectors on the MB but the OEM power cable only has connectors for one sata and one optical drive.  Thanks for your feedback.
