That would not work as the card requires a minimum of a 450W PSU and none of the 9010 form factors comes even close to that with the stock PSU.

i will not assume what PC  you own!

nor what PSU is there now, (none of mine are factory stock here)]  the MT uses  24pin ATX PSU.! yah.

nor what card you took outl

why not just tell what you have  , even post photo of it or URL link to one that you see, on the web.

unblind the helper and win.

the optiplex is business computer not gamer, so dell uses tiny PSU,  (but we all know it can be upgraded)

265watt is par , stock, new, PC,  MT.   you can upgrade it easy.  +

the MSI manual clearly tells you RTM, 450watt main PSU min.  clear text statement there.

that means doing full bore fill tilt gaming, needs not 2D readng say mail.. A PC can be 25watts just  to run desktop. so is no load on any PC.  PSU.

the 10,000 post here where the ask'er can not tell what SIZE PC you have at hand..

MT, DT, SFF, USFF, All-in-one (last two are hopeless)

IT is not 5 PCs, its one, can you tell us what you own? a photo here works,  or just tell it..

the MT does allow (fit) full sized, (tall) cards, it does.

this card?

this card is 120watts just the card, I do not like MSI products, there manuals STINK . (and uses the word ANY ) wow. (no card specific manuals there, zero, so they are cheap lazy bums, IMO,) buy from Asus, or gigabyte.

It  has an AUX DC power connector and most be fully connected to the PSU or the card will DOA.

are you removing the old card ? or is there no card now... be nice to know that and its name.

the other huge dell problem (lots) is there maybe no AUX power PCI-0 cables sets in the PSU/PC. oops.. fail you will. (there are hacks sure) buy a real PSU,..

no PSU sized stated either , all my dells here are MT and all have 750Watt PSU's , even my 3020MT

I like the Corsair TX-m750 , for many reasons , modular and very high quality .  even the 550w can work.

  • must fit,  (use a ruler:?) for sure  too long and wrong height, (some lame PCs BTX are near impossible)
  • must not overload the PSU
  • not overload the slot, like seen on some lame SFF
  • not cause PC to overheat (thermal loading effects)
  • works on w10-64bit?  no OS stated,  but this card will.  gtx700 series up do.
  • missing PCi-e AuX cables OOPS !
  • some cards are too tall and hit the lid , like on my nice T3610 (have fix) Highprofile and too high.
  • Some cards are too thick (called wide or slot width) hit the dell silly DDR ram banks.

this is my generic hit list no idea at all me what you own, UNSTATED.

Both JOcean and savvy2 said a GDDR6 GPU won't work in a 9010, which is accurate, unless you plan on upgrading the PSU (power supply unit) and have an MT (mini tower).

Sorry for late reply I have a DT Dell Optiplex 9010 if that's not compatible with the GPU how do I make it compatible?

Speedstep linked a GT 1030 GPU low profile because that's the max a 9010 DT can take.  One can also check out eBay, Amazon, newegg, etc., for the card.

wait sorry okay what's the link for 1050ti that's compatible with the dell Optiplex 9010 dt? Cause I know it also works with 1050ti but I don't know what the right GPU type is (I am not a tech god at lease In computers.)

No, a 75w GTX 1050 ti won't work with a 9010 DT.  It needs at least a 300w PSU.  A 9010 DT has a 250 watt PSU.  I won't say it's completely impossible due to YouTube videos that are out there, but you still run a risk of not having enough power for card, PC components, or both.

So speedstep already said 40w max; and I already said 30w GT 1030 is the max.

If you want to do to better than that - You could upgrade the PSU and have it sit outside the case since it won't fit - a less than desirable option.

A better option is to get an MT, then upgrade the PSU.  If you select a card, whether it be a GTX 1050 ti or a 1660 ti that you mentioned above, speedstep is likely the one that can recommend a PSU.  It's not just total watts, but also having enough power on certain rails.

A 9010 MT, and the other MT's from that generation, can take upgraded PSU's.  The newest Optiplex's are smaller (yah, the MT's) and don't take a full size PSU inside the case.

I'm really confused so wait what do I have to do to upgrade it to a gtx 1660ti? What's the PSU cable I need and yes I am completely fine with not being able to fit the GPU in the case, Also is gddr6 the type of size I'm sorry I'm just not really techy.

Cards that physically fit into the case up to pascal work fine. There are no low profile single slot 1660.

1660 is Class 2.3.1 660UEFI card.

Will not work in 9010 because its class 1  32 bit bios.

UEFI WIN8 WIN10 bios is required for Turing based cards like the 1650 1660

Class 1 bios requires INT 13 msdos VESA video mode 103.

UEFI cards do not support this.

75W - 300W cards are not supported.

40W cards like the GT1030 work fine.

PSU = Power Supply Unit  That's what you have to be comfortable with the PSU sitting outside the case if you still want to pursue a higher watt GPU.  Remember, speedstep said a 1660 Ti won't work and why, including its size.

I did run across a couple of videos:  YouTube + 9010 MT + 1660 Ti - You'll notice not only does he have an MT, but also has an upgraded PSU.  YouTube + 9010 SFF + GTX 1650

I didn't watch the videos in their entirety.  So you'll have to watch for what special trick(s) they used to get the GPU's to mate with the Optiplex, especially the 1660 Ti.

Please remember anything you try beyond the GT 1030 would be at your own risk.

Best regards and good luck!
