Monitors and Dell PC
I have multiple Dell PCs that have monitors connected via HDMI or DP that are flashing black. We have updated drivers, restarted, and swapped out cables with no luck.
The PCs range from 0-3 years old and models include OptiPlex 5040, OptiPlex 5000 SFF and Micro.
This has been happening more frequently as of recently and we are unsure as to why.
Please offer suggestions.

Well, connect same monitor to other non dell pc to see if black flash reoccurs. It could be your monitor is dying. Same thinking. Try some working non Dell monitor to connect to your optiplex. If issue gone it is not due to optiplex.

HP monitors and Dell monitors both. And we have an abundance of HP desktops with no issues with the same exact monitors.

Try clean install of Windows 10 on one of these Dell desktop and see if issue goes away. Users often think it is video adapter but actually not. It is Windows or motherboard hardware issue.

One of them is a brand new image. The others I didn't waste time on since the image didn't initially help.

The 5000 is new model and you should still have warranty on it. Chat w Dell for repair or replacement. 5040 is much older.
