My Optiplex 9010 suddenly stopped displaying
Hello, so I recently bought a refurbished Dell Optiplex 9010. Since pcs are pretty expensive, I had to settle with refurbished as I really needed a pc to help with my studies in nursing. These are the specifications:
- Model: Optiplex 9010
- Processor: Intel Core i7 3770 3.4GHz
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- Storage: 240GB SSD
- Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
- Graphics Card: Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 1050 2gb
- *Monitor: Samsung LS24C360 24" FHD
So after a few weeks of using it, I got busy with uni, so today was the only time I was able to open it after a week or 2, when I tried opening it, there was no display on my monitor but the pc is showing it is lit up, I'm confused because my monitor is just black, literally not displaying anything. I am not really a techy person so I have no idea what to do, I really need help as I have to use it for my university project but I'm really lost.

For any system at that age, replace the CMOS battery with a fresh new CR2032. A maintenance task that will keep your machine firmware functioning properly. Then, perform an RTC reset using jumper #21
After system reset, it will be required to access system BIOS to adjust time/date and components configurations. With a dedicated video card, Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 1050 2gb. connecting the Samsung monitor to the GTX card. Or, remove the GTX video card and connecting the monitor directly to the OptiPlex integrate graphics displayport ports for testing, #10 of diagram below. At boot, continuously tapping F2 would bring you to BIOS setup menu.

Adding instructions for BIOS reset (use jumper method as Chino mentioned): How to Perform a BIOS or CMOS Reset and Clear the NVRAM on Dell Computers
Also as Chino mentioned: Definitely try connecting monitor directly without GPU card installed.

chino and brad are already helping you. one important clue is whether the pc power button is solid blue or amber. if solid blue. pc is working you just have display connection issue. if amber then work on mobo cmos etc.

Not to over nit-pick, but 9010 power button is white or amber. Blue is it's 990 predecessor.
