no jack information available

i have windows 8 and the latest soundmax drivers.windows says my drivers is up to date.when i plug my external speakers in it says no jack information available.i dont hv any conflict with my drivers.

Please post the Dell model number (line and model, e.g. Inspiron 620, etc).  We can't offer much without that.

Also, keep in mind this is mostly a users helping users, not a direct line to Dell tech support.

This happens with clean installs or upgrades where the OEM driver is replaced by the generic microsoft driver.

This disables soundmax audio ESP which means there is no jack information.

You can't enable it.

You have to RE install the OEM Driver for your SPECIFIC MODEL.

just want to know if the soundmax works on windows 8 or do i have to downgrade to windows 7
