Optiplex 3010 sff

Question

I’m about to be given an optiplex 3010 sff shortly. I was just wondering if anyone has found a higher wattage power supply that fits?

Nope, nope, nope.  I didn't suggest a downgrade.  GT 710 2GB is still only 19w.

All one has to do is Google it.  'gt 710 wattage'  Also, all GPU card mfrs. seem to do that - always recommend a 300w even for low watt cards.  With your PSU, you could go up to about 40w or so.  It can easily power a 30w GT 1030.  So hopefully you're not still in doubt.

If it were a 3020, it could take the 315w PSU from the XE2 SFF. Do you plan on using a GPU card?  It can still take a 30w GT 1030.

so it seems standard TFX psu would not fit Dell sff case.

The GeForce 710 I would be using is the single fan PNY because I already have it and I will probably put a bigger gpu in my other desktop.

I was actually thinking of using a mild GeForce 710, but the 710 says it recommends 300w. The stock power supply is 250w.

I just found an Apevia 300w on Amazon that someone said they successfully installed in a 3010 sff. I might give it a shot if I don’t get an answer on how much power the PNY draws.

I’m trying not to have to buy a new gpu. I already have a PNY gt 710, but it says it recommends minimum of 300w.

It might be a DT. I’ll look into it. I just know that when I look up the PNY gt710 that I have on Amazon, it says it recommends minimum of 300w. I’ve posted a question on Amazon as to how much power it actually draws.

Did you know the GT 710 is only 19w?  The 3010 SFF PSU has no trouble powering it. And as long as you have a 250w PSU, you may have the DT and not the SFF.

I looked it up on Amazon and it’s a 1gb gpu. My gt710 is a 2gb gpu. I don’t want to spend money just to downgrade, but thanks for the suggestion.

So it would appear that the gt 710 is a 19w gpu. I thought the single fan might affect that. Thanks for all your help everyone.

Those little fans take very little power.  As for GPU wattage, that includes the fan(s).
