One M.2 port is for NVMe storage (PCIe), another for WiFi CNVi device.Each slot has different pin key and second (WiFi) slot is for short devices only (2230 standard)

The specs call for only one M.2 SSD. The other slot is for optional cards like a wi-fi card.

Concur. In older dell model they never support >1 m.2 ssd slot. ssd data port is ambiguous but I guess op meant ssd.
