I brought many DP cables the last one is VESA certified in first use the monitor kept flickering and make sound i frustrated , when i used second time i blow the ends to remove dust if exist in ends cable's and put it tight in ports the cable works excellent
the conclusion of my experience with Displayport is :
1- use VESA certified cable.
2- make sure the ends cable are clean and no dust .
Try a different DP cable. Preferably not the cheapest, but more of a name brand. One that's VESA Certified may be optimum. I've had defective generic brand new cables before.

I'm not sure if it's the monitor or not. May be try Dell Support Assist to make sure drivers are updated?
Also, how do you want the monitor hooked up? If it works on HDMI...
Also, it's a brand new monitor, right? May be chat or call Dell directly as it is under warranty.

everything is ok VGA HDMI ports
the problem with DP even the dell display manager doesn't recognize the monitor when i use displayport cable
i think you right about cable because wthen i put DP cable tight the flickering almost gone but still not recognized by dell display manager
i will buy a new cable but i didn't find VESA Certified
