Optiplex 7000 SFF serial port

Question

I have an Optiplex 7000 SFF without serial port. I see a pinout for Ps2/serial at the motherboard, but I do not have that optional I/O module and there is no module to buy. Do you have that motherboard pinout specification so that I can wire it to a serial connector?

I think you got the incorrect serial module with the wrong connector.

What you need is the Optiplex 7000 SFF serial card.

you ve got the Optiplex 7000 Micro serial card which has a slim connector

Connect the serial-module cable to the connector (KB_MS_SERIAL) on the system board; Insert the serial module into the slot on the chassis.

This one isn't correct. The 24 pin header on the motherboard is 2X the size. This one uses a much smaller connector which is not compatible. I bought one and it doesn't work.

It seems OP grabbed an incompatible serial module which has the wrong socket connector to start with. Optiplex 3000 CRD, I/O, SERIAL, MT/SFF, D10Optional Serial Port KMW3T
