optiplex 7010 no sound
Hi,
Can someone help me identify that burnt thing, which i'm assuming is related to the marking FBA2.
Its near the sound card chip and the soundcard stopped working after this happened. thks

Some "SMT" component. It would cost more to fix it, if you could even find someone that will fix it, than to replace the motherboard. Whatever caused this to "fry" is probably still a problem so fixing it would be more than just replacing the part.
If you can live with no sound, keep as is. If you want sound you will have to search for a used or refurbished motherboard. Keep in mind there may be specific motherboards for whatever version, such as small form factor, etc.

Adding to what fireberd said, the 7010 is just one Optiplex the came in different sizes.
