Optiplex 7050 Loads Windows half the time
Still working on my stepdads Dell Optiplex 7050. Half the time the PC hangs at the Dell Logo. The power light is white and the HD light is on, but nobody is home. I have to hold the power button to shut it down. I hit the power button again and it boots to Windows just fine. On the PC's I've built I can look at the board and see where it hung. I seriously wish I had Tha with this PC.
The PC seems to restart just fine. This all start after using the Dell Command update.

The Diagnostics turn out fine. I finally tracked the issue to the Windows 10 Boot Manager and the fast boot functionality. With fast boot disabled there is no issue. I booted into the advance option and tried the start uo repair and it faild. So I may just leave the fast boot disabled an leave it at that.

7050 what case is that? MT, SFF, Micro ,only 3 years old, now, so coin cell not bad, mostly.
ok fastboot off forces w10 to safemode, but really is slow boot not booting from hiberfil.sys images.
Fast boot off forces slow file by file classic boots , seen for 2 decades prior to w10. (no image)
That means the image fail was or is CORRUPTED,
the Image file can fail that 3 ways, corrupted OS or bad hdd. or bad RAM. (or is this PC SSD booted?) IDK.
when you shut down the PC correctly the image file saves correctly (perfectly) and then works the next time every time, All w10 pc's on earth do that and work.
read the BIOS logs first, if stuck ad boot logo DELL then try F2 next see if BIOS is working, or just cant boot the HDD0. the boot logs are there to read, do so first. BIOS F2 logs. seen on the BIOS pages.
did someone pull the AC line cord from the wall running? or the like and worse power strips bad or loose or switch there thrown?
also when this fails it a sign of a worse failure next, (like bad hDD)
backup you data if wise now.
