OptiPlex 7090 Ultra Processor Operating Temperature
Hi, I have this temperature concern. The machine sometime in idle mode, the processor temperature can spike to 98°C without any reason. Do you think this is normal or a ventilation issue? I had once or twice the situation where the machine was somehow off after leaving it idle for sometime and I wonder it was due to maximum temperature reached.

Please pardon - I couldn't see your photo. I do this from my phone and can only see photos while signed out. Now, if I go back in while signed out, it signs me in though I cleared browsing data.
It's not mentioned what CPU you have. Top operating temp for a i7-1185G7 is 100°C, which is typical. PC may be shutting down before it reaches that temp.?
Experience with all-in-ones and this forum indicate that the smaller units, micro for one also, can be more prone to each issues. This is spite of Dell running CPU's in them with lower TDP's. However, cramped space and using the tiniest of fans mean heat issues do occasionally develop.
A couple of options. Check the thermal paste on the CPU. If your 7090 Ultra is under warranty, use the "Contact Support" link that's at the end of every thread.

Happen to notice this weird issue and I think this is the reason why the processor is frying.
Configuration as follow,
Desktop: 7090 Ultra (i7-1185G7, 2x16GB DDR4, M.2 256GB NVMe Class35, BIOS: 1.4.1)
Monitor: C2422HE (Firmware: M2T105)
OS: Windows 10 Pro 21H1 19043.1237
Connection: 7090 Ultra is powered via USB-C from C2422HE
Steps to replicate as follow,
1) Turn on the 7090 Ultra by pressing the C2422HE on/off button
2) It does not matter whether you log in or not log in to Windows
3) Ctrl+Alt+Del and select Restart
This is where the weird behavior starts,
4) C2422HE: Scanning for signal
5) C2422HE: No USB-C 90W signal from your device
6) C2422HE: Going into Standby mode
7) 7090 Ultra does not seem to boot, no Dell boot logo, temperature surges and fan runs in very high speed, heat builds up extremely fast
Force shut down 7090 Ultra by long pressing the C2422HE on/off button
This issue does not happen if Shut down is selected in step 2 above.
Try to find some clues from the logs in Event Viewer but unsuccessful. Any idea and suggestion?

I resorted to disable turbo boost in BIOS. Temperature is significantly lower and stable even under long CPU stress, however, at the expense of sacrificing performance

The weird issue went away after I updated Intel Serial IO Driver 30.100.2104.1.

In spite of having to sacrifice some performance, glad you got it working.
