There are a number of Network drivers for the 755 on the driver page. Are you sure you have the correct one downloaded and installed? Also have you downloaded and installed the chipset drivers as well? As far as installing XP goes, I'll leave it at that.
JOcean is correct. with old faithful XP you have got to manually try each driver on Dell site until finding one that works. otoh in Win 7 or 10 the OS is more smart to figure it out automatically for you.

My eyes seemed to have scrolled over the "show all" option ahah.
I've installed a chipset driver and a few other network related ones from the page again.
It now works and I've setup the computer to my local network. Everythings seems functional, thanks to both of you!!
