Optiplex 780 sff upgrade

Hello,

i have a Dell optiplex 780 sff and i was wondering if i could switch it into  a gtx 1050 ti and a core 2 quad core cpu

i think it has a dual core intel celeron atm and 8 GB of ddr3 ram installed with windows 7

Thanks in advance

I have removed the hard drive and cd drive from the pc and i can cut a hole in the wall with a dremel so most cards will fit,

the reason i am upgrading this pc instead of buying a new one is that

1) i got it for free

2) 8GB DDR3 is enough for most of my games

3) i live in finland and if i would by a new pc shipping would be over 150$

4) i want to use this pc for something and not throw it away

ps i watched a couple of videos which said a 450, 750 and 1050 would work just fine

the Core 2 quad ,   use the newest stepping CPU,  for best 64bit support. "G0"   upgrade BIOS first for CPU.

Chipset G41 (intel) BTX (odd ducks)

SFF are tiny PC and card selections are limited on those.

Power is limited too. why go from 1050 75watts so 150TI 120watts.  your PSU can not handle

why not use cash say $50 on use 3020 MT, full sized case and run what every you want, not this SFF junk.

PSU, is only 200watts, is not GPU friendly at all, not by mile.

the TI GPU you named , TI has POWER AUX jack no Dell SFF has. no SFF PSU has that AUX jack.

the PSU is not ATX spec, or anything else... it's DELL only. The PSU has only 4 plugs, 2 for mobo, and sata + DVD drive.(no AUX , 12vATX-PCI-e cables.)

Why upgrade any SFF,  spend $50 on 3020 MT, then you can upgrade  easy.

if lucky a low profile GPU card that is rated 75watts or lower can work, 1050 (non TI) is that.

as is 1030.

why do this, no clue given, just to get HDMI (or DVI) port? or>?  lots and lost for features on any GPU , is one your goal,

unstated.  is a list of lowprofile cards,   not too long.

the 1030 is the one good card, that  uses low power

seen here.  (20-30watts) rated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did it work?

I did the same thing but I had a OCZ 750 watt PSU in my collection of many parts. I have another 500 dedicated to only the GTX 650. You just have to throw away the stock PSU and cut the header connecter of it and leave the wires long, short on the stock PSU that's going in the trash after I strip it of anything of value. Wire all the colors the same together. Wire all green wires to the motherboard header to all  PSU's, they all now work simultaneously off the power button. I put two 80 gig HD's in RAID 1 for twice the read and write times. The CD and floppy went in my junk pile. I cut the whole side off the case and it's now an OPEN FORM FACTOR unit. LOL I coined that here. Point being I frankenstined it for free and it's a beast now. Just trying to find some Clockable DDR3. You can get a Modded BIOS that lets you put a Quad CPU in it and over clock all aspects of it. Hahah game on now.
