Optiplex 780 SM Bus Controller
I bought a reconfigured OptiPlex 780 and put in a hard drive with Windows XP Professional SP3 to get an industrial machine back in operation. Everything is fine except a few devices. The SM Bus Controller needs a driver. Here is info from the msinfo32 readout.
BIOS Dell A04 (current is A15)
SMBIOS Version is 2.5
Where can I find this driver? It's not anywhere on Dell Support Driver pages.
Thanks in advance,
Robert

Have you updated the BIOS to the latest version?

SM Bus Controller is ALWAYS chipset drivers ARE NOT INSTALLED.
XP is End of Life End of support.
You need to download the 32 bit version of 7zip and extract the XP cab file into the documents folder
YOU Cannot point to a cab file and have XP see anything.
7-Zip for 32-bit Windows

Then Right click on each Yellow ! in device manager and say update via my pc not from Internet.

I was able to find the Intel Chipset driver package on Dell Support by unchecking the box to look for drivers for only my service tag. I updated the BIOS and then the Intel drivers and it resolved my missing SM Bus Controller driver issue.
Thank you all for your support.
