optiplex 790 Cpu upgrade

Hi, I am planning to swap out the CPU in my optiplex 790 (i5 2500), for a slightly better one (i5 3470), my question here is, will it work? I know they are the same socket, but I am unsure if it is compatible with the motherboard, any help? Thank you.
