Optiplex 9010 SFF PSU swap question

A friend of mine is looking to case swap his 9010 Optiplex SFF w/ Ivy Bridge Architecture so a 2012-2015 model.

His motherboard has the mini-24 pin connector, instead of the more common 8 pin connector.

I understand adapters are made for ATX to Dell's 8 pin, and that they work well.

When looking for an ATX to Mini-24 pin I'm faced with two options.

1: Listed for DELL 380 780 980 760 960 which is NOT a straight through (1-1)

2. And the common straight through, designed for HP's.

I can't find a pinout for the 9010 SFF's with the Mini-24 pin motherboards or PSU's to confirm if either/or will or won't work.

Googling has lead me down empty 8-pin roads or The old 3 digit Optiplex avenues but nothing that seems specific to the 9010's of this time.

I'm okay with making a custom adapter.

Thank you everyone.

9010 SFF mobo 24 pin ATX is industry standard pinout.  The only proprietary part of this mobo is the 5 pin power switch connector.  There are third party adapter to connect standard case front panel to that 5 pin.

when you say case swap you want to move the 9010 sff Dell mobo to a non-Dell case using standard psu?  if so why not just get the 9010 MT psu?

the 8 pin proprietary is for 9020 and 7040.  7010 still uses standard 24/4 pin ATX.  you do not need an adapter for that.

I am not sure what you meant by mini 24 pin.  The online pic of 9010 sff mobo shows standard size 24 pin socket (white).

there is a black Dell mini 24 pin in 780 or 760 SFF, but not for 9010 afaik.

@redxps630

I can't physically look at the connector myself otherwise I could tell for myself, but my friend whos a novice with computers is telling me it appears smaller than a regular connector. Time will only tell when his new PSU arrives.

Is the pinout for ATX and dell the same?
