Optiplex AIO 7440 Touchscreen Ghosting Issue
I am new to the community btw. three months ago i bought a used Dell Optiplex 7440 AIO. it was working fine.then just yesterday, the touchscreen had issues.it would be stuck on the left side of the display near the bezels.can't use the touchscreen. I tried disabling and renabling it but it was still there.so I thought about driver issues.i checked dell's website but couldn't find any.tried reinstalling the device but it still doesn't work.then I think the issue might be from windows update version 2004.and I rolled back to version 1909.but still cant fix the problem.

Hello! I know this 2-3 years late. I just created my account, though I thought I could use my DellTech account.
I was having trouble with this too. I recently acquired a Optiplex 7440 AIO and my cursor kept glitching out as if I had an auto-clicker app activated, but it was the touch screen bubble instead. I am assuming that is what you are referring to as ghosting.
I looked up and found a solution, though it really is only helpful if you only tried disabling the touch screen function through the settings application.
I am running windows 10 by the way.
Here are the steps:
1.) Right click Start at the bottom-right of your screen in the taskbar.
2.) Select Device Manager.
the Device Manager window will appear.
3.) Scan through the list of options until you see ‘Human Interface Devices’ and expand the device sub-list.
4.) Double click ‘HID-compliant touch screen’ option.
A properties window for the device will appear.
5.) Select the ‘Driver’ banner at the top of properties window.
6.) Scan down until you see ‘Disable Device’ and select it.
If the button says ‘Enable Device’ then this isn’t the solution to your problem. I am sorry. If it does say ‘Disabled’ then proceed.
7.) once selected, a warning pop-up will appear on your screen that says
“Disabling this device will cause it to stop functioning. Do you really want to disable it?”
8.) Click ‘Yes’.
The device will now be disabled.
9.) Select ‘OK’ at the bottom of the HID-complaint touch screen Properties window to confirm your selection.
10.) Proceed to close out the Device Manager window.
This is what I did and it has stopped the touchscreen bubble ghosting issue.
This should work as it is the touch screen device.
I do hope this helps.
