Processor Upgrade
Hi!
I have a Dell Optiplex 755 (Desktop Computer DT).
Its motherboard is Dell manufactured 0DR845 with Chipset Q45 and Socket LGA 775.
Currently, it has a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 processor.
I wanted to know what other processor does my system and motherboard supports? Can you provide me with a list of processors if any.
I tried Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 but it didn't work.
So please can anyone tell me what processors does it support other than Core 2 Duo E8400.

@MoazzamHaider , Do not invest into this very old system, a small and cheap SSD is the only upgrade that will have significant improvement. Anyway, here is the tech sheet with support processors for your system.

Yes, I have seen this guide and but still not working for me. I don't know what is the problem although the system is supported. I don't know what am I doing wrong? or maybe the system is locked somehow, it only works with E8400.

It is not locked to only one type of cpu. try replace CMOs battery with new one ($1-2 worthy investment) and clear CMOs by reset jumper and update to latest bios.
