Processors
I have 2 dales. An optiplex 780 and a dimension e520. Id like to max out the processors and need to know what those would be. Ive been able to come up with a Q9400 and a Q6600. Does this sound about right?

E520 isnt going to take All Processors.
It also wont take 1333mhz FSB cpus.

Fastest CPUs validated are

PN416 Conroe E6700, 2.66G, 4MB, 1066FSB, B2
For LGA775 Q6700 you need bios version 2.4.0

NONE OF THESE work on E520

The Optiplex 780 can use up to a Core 2 Quad Q9650
The Dimension E520 Could Likely Use something like a Core 2 Extreme QX6800
