Question from a user re: 3020
Question: I have an Dell Optiplex 3020 with a fried hard drive, I bought new wd 500 but when plugged in it tells me it's PATA, and that the CPU only supports NTFS, also figured out that the new hard drive is supposed to be Sata 1, do you know which sata is compatible, if I need to get a sata 2 or 3? Any help is appreciated

3020 has intel H81 chipset. It supports max 2 sata 3 ports (6gb/s). depending on form factor (mt, dt, sff) 3020 has 1-2 blue/black ports for hdd, 1 port white for odd.
blue port is sata3. white port is sata1.
ntfs is hdd format as compared to fat. Windows xp and later use ntfs. 98/95 use fat.
pata hdd is not supported in 3020.
